Do it yourself with our App/Audioguide

The Touching The Art App features audio guides for dozens of art museums across the U.S. and Europe, from The Louvre to the Met. Each museum page features an audio guide for some of my favorite artworks at that museum—not necessarily the famous ones, but the ones with the engaging and powerful stories. Each artwork includes guiding questions for your own “Reading”  followed by my own audio “Reading” for you to enjoy. Check out a sample here.

Private Tours

The Touching The Art approach helps to create not only a powerful personal response to art, but it also encourages fun and moving shared art experiences! I’d love to help you plan a tour specifically for your group.

I’ve organized and led tours for college classes, tech companies, dance groups, summer camps, families, and a variety of other kinds of groups. Each tour is tailored to the interests and age-level of the groups. If you’d like to hear more about the possibility of a private tour, I’d be happy to get on a zoom call with you.

"I feel like I just came out of a movie theatre, like I just finished watching Braveheart."

- Eric Khrom (right after a tour)

"The reading of the artwork, as you present it, helps to make the transition from the initial emotional response to a piece of work to the understanding of why that response was elicited. I really enjoyed that!"

– Farhana B.

"I came home with three distinct stories that day - three stories that I vividly remember and feel - instead of a mishmash of contextless images. It was a great experience, and I am definitely going to use these new tools to improve my enjoyment of art!"

– Jessica S.

"The tour was very enjoyable. I especially appreciated the fact that the discussions centered on subjects, themes and emotions, etc., rather than minutia about artistic technique or the biographies of the artists."

– David M.

Luc Travers

Author, Teacher and Tour guide
For the past fifteen years I've given tours at art museums from the Louvre to the Legion of Honor. In 2006 I started teaching art appreciation to elementary and junior high students And in the summer of 2009, I decided I needed put my ideas down on paper, and so I wrote Touching The Art. Today, I teach literature and art appreciation online with Literature at our house, I give tours all over the U.S., and recently published my second book, Stories in Paint.
